How far along: 33 Weeks – I feel like I just posted 32 weeks, time is KIND of going quickly
Baby is the size of: Cauliflower
Gender: Guess what? We still don’t know.
Weight gain: Up another 2 pounds this week, so about 22 lb total
Maternity clothes: Same stuff – belly is getting exponentially larger so I’m sticking to maternity shirts or nice stretchy tanks.
Stretch marks: Nope.
Belly button in or out: Still in, refuses to go out!
Sleep: Been off and on…mostly been horrible.
Best moment this week: Lots of things this week, my first Prenatal Yoga class was last week and I loved it! We did a Hospital Tour and made an appointment to meet with a Pediatrician. This is really happening! Also, the doctor this week was great and showed me exactly how the baby was positioned and took his time with us. He said the baby won’t be too big or too small so it won’t break my hips – great thing to hear!
Worst moment this week: Just getting more uncomfortable, but nowhere near unbearable yet. AND right after I posted last weekend, I noticed my ankles were starting to swell a bit. Lucky to have Kevin to massage them bad boys.
Miss anything: Being not pregnant, I still have 7 weeks but I am so ready. I want my ribs back to where they’re supposed to be.
Movement: Still very calm, most active time is after lunch or before/after dinner.
Cravings: Nothing really.
Queasy or sick: Nope.
Labor Signs: Not yet.
Symptoms: Congested…sore ribs…swollen ‘c’ankles
Wedding rings on or off: On. No swelling in the hands
Looking forward to: More Yoga classes even though this blizzard just ruined this weeks class. My RI Shower was this weekend and it was more than I could have expected. It was a great day and I couldn’t thank Kevin’s family enough for planning such a beautiful shower! Now officially time to finish shopping and complete the nursery!
Monthly Archives: January 2015
32 Weeks
How far along: 32 Weeks
Baby is the size of: Pomelo (what’s a Pomelo??)
Gender: Guess what? We still don’t know.
Weight gain: Have another doctor appointment on Monday and we’ll know, around 20lbs still.
Maternity clothes: Same stuff – belly is getting exponentially larger so I’m sticking to maternity shirts lately.
Stretch marks: Nope.
Belly button in or out: Still in. I don’t think it’s going to become an outie
Sleep: Been great!!
Best moment this week: Getting one week closer to the end and one step closer to finishing the nursery!
Worst moment this week: Just getting more uncomfortable, but nowhere near unbearable yet. Nothing really bothers me much yet.
Miss anything: Not being the size of a house. I may be “all belly” but it’s a large belly.
Movement: This baby constantly sleeps I think…it is SO stinkin’ calm! Literally just felt a foot though, through my belly.
Cravings: Nothing really.
Queasy or sick: Nope. Although, when hunger strikes, I get that immediate nauseas feeling!
Labor Signs: Some Braxton Hicks every so often but that’s it.
Symptoms: Congested…sore ribs…that’s about it.
Wedding rings on or off: On. No swelling anywhere yet – yet.
Looking forward to: My doctor’s appointments every 2 weeks are going to make time go quickly and my Shower this weekend!!! I can’t wait. Super busy next 8 weeks – this week is the Hospital Tour and I have my first Prenatal Yoga Class. 🙂
Empties
There’s always products we use and use and use and swear by. I’ve dedicated this post to my “empties”. I saw a YouTube video during the week where a girl did a video all about empty products and makeup. Clearly, I don’t go through makeup NEARLY that quickly so mine is kind of all random stuff that I/we have recently blown through. These posts probably won’t happen very often, mostly because I have to KEEP empty things until I have enough to talk about, but here goes round 1!
Nivea / Philosophy Field of Flowers / Philosophy Peppermint Stick / Big / Candle / Vitamin
This is a totally random group of products but I seemed to run out of them all at the same time! First is my Nivea Lotion which I purchased in bulk from BJ’s because of coupons and awesome pricing! Nivea has some great products and this lotion is more of a cream to be honest. It’s very thick and very moisturizing, I really like it. I like to choose lotions that don’t list water as the first ingredient; however, this one is definitely nice and thick and creamy! Does Philosophy make anything bad? I haven’t tried one product that I haven’t truly loved. Field of Flowers and Peppermint Stick are both body washes (shampoo as well) and I loved them. The scents are so perfect and you just can’t go wrong with anything they sell. I was in the peppermint mood this holiday and busted out not one, but TWO Twisted Peppermint Candles (which I just finished up yesterday). This candle, like the body wash, has such a great scent and doesn’t just smell like burning candle – it actually did give off a nice minty scent. Sometimes I would just leave it on the table with the cover off and not even lit. My BIG shampoo I have talked about before, I use this once or twice a week, usually after I put a lot of product in my hair so it de-gunks it and gives some life back to my poor roots. It’s basically just sea salt – but it does a great job and I hardly need conditioner after it. Love this stuff and I’m onto container number 2. My prenatal vitamins – kind of strange I know, but I just finished this bottle so why not throw it in! I tried a couple different brands and the other guy actually made me nauseas enough to actually throw up after taking it. The One a Day’s are sensitive to my stomach and I don’t mind (gulp) taking them. I also recommend purchasing the larger package at a store like BJ’s, Sam’s or Costco to get the best bang for your buck.
This little guy ran out just after I took the picture so he got a selfie. The Cozumel Coral Reef candle my Mom and I bought last year some time after the season for super cheap. The smell is SO fresh and clean for a bathroom or hallway. I really loved burning this candle and wish it was a scent they sold all of the time.
So that’s about all, I hope you enjoyed my first “empties” post and hopefully I will have some exciting/random things next time. Maybe even some manly things. Just need to dig around the recycling bin a little better. I know – gross!
31 Weeks
How far along: 31 Weeks – this creature better not be late.
Baby is the size of: Romaine Lettuce
Gender: Guess what? We still don’t know.
Weight gain: Had my doctor appointment this week and I only gained 2 pounds since my last appointment – yep, only 2 little pounds over the holidays – not complaining! Officially up 20lbs.
Maternity clothes: Same stuff – just getting a little tighter. My coats aren’t made for a belly.
Stretch marks: Nope.
Belly button in or out: Still in. It definitely does not want to pop.
Sleep: Been great the last week or so, I’m getting back to the first trimester when I was tired all the time.
Best moment this week: Knowing that the end is near.
Worst moment this week: Besides being uncomfortable and all that jazz, I’ve been feeling really rundown – even felt so, so sick at work that I had to go home. Not good. Also had to get my Tdap vaccine- thumbs down.
Miss anything: Oh, you know, not being able to put on socks and take off my own pants.
Movement: Lots of movement.
Cravings: Not really. Things are pretty normal now.
Queasy or sick: Had that first trimester hormone nausea this week but hasn’t been bad since.
Labor Signs: Some Braxton Hicks every so often but that’s it.
Symptoms: Still congested a lot. My ribs are the only sore thing lately which is making me have to sit up straight constantly. And Baby’s head really likes to be wedged up into the right side of my ribs – better than feet kicking at them I guess.
Wedding rings on or off: On. No swelling anywhere yet.
Looking forward to: My RI shower and getting the nursery into shape. Crib is assembled, changing table is ready to go – probably need to purchase a few more baskets for storage. We need to put the spare bed into storage and then start washing baby clothes and blankets to prepare for his or her arrival. This hasn’t changed at all, but we definitely have a busy next 9 weeks and I just hope I can stay awake for it all. Right now I’m planning Kevin’s 30th Birthday which will hit at week 37…AHH!
We had a SUPER busy weekend starting Friday after work. We inhaled some deli (yup, deli) sandwiches and then took a 2 hour road trip to Mass for a concert. Not sure why I thought a concert at 30 weeks pregnant was a good idea but you only live once. The opening bands sucked something serious and were way too loud and I started kind of freaking out that the music was too loud for the baby so we hung out far away from the stage. The venue was FREEZING cold and the band went on at 10pm – I wasn’t miserable though. They were really good and it was totally worth it. We stayed at hour for them and then had a 45 minute drive to RI where to spent the night. Saturday morning we had breakfast and drove back to CT with a quick stop at the Outlets so I could look for a diaper bag, got home, unpacked, showered, got dressed and drove about 45 minutes away to our friends 30th Birthday Party, got home and crashed! Today, Kevin is brewing beer to be ready for his birthday and I did some grocery shopping and spent the afternoon vacuum sealing/space saving all of our pillows/blankets/comforters to make room in our closets. SO eventful but I am so exhausted.
Hoping for the week to move quickly so we’re one week closer to meeting this little baby!!
30 Weeks
How far along: 30 Weeks – only 10 to go! OMG
Baby is the size of: A cantaloupe.
Gender: We still don’t know. Heart rate and how I’m carrying is not a legit way to guess either.
Weight gain: I’m sure I officially hit the 20lb mark. I go to the doctor this week.
Maternity clothes: Same.
Stretch marks: Nope.
Belly button in or out: Still in. It definitely does not want to pop.
Sleep: Totally hit or miss. I catch naps whenever I can.
Best moment this week: Putting the crib together!! We spent an exciting New Years Eve assembling our crib and it is perfect.
Worst moment this week: Starting to get uncomfortable when I sit and/or eat.
Miss anything: Being normal size. Eating normal sized portions.
Movement: Lots of movement.
Cravings: Not really. Things are pretty normal now.
Queasy or sick: Nope!
Labor Signs: Some Braxton Hicks every so often but that’s it.
Symptoms: Still congested a lot. My ribs are the only sore thing lately which is making me have to sit up straight constantly. My belly presses upward when I sit/slouch and it just kills my ribs.
Wedding rings on or off: On
Looking forward to: My RI shower and getting the nursery into shape. Crib is assembled, changing table is ready to go – probably need to purchase a few more baskets for storage. We need to put the spare bed into storage and then start washing baby clothes and blankets to prepare for his or her arrival.
Had a mini photo shoot – hard to tell I’m preg from front or behind – pretty obviously when I turn sideways:
And lastly, a comparison from the morning I took the test (4 weeks) against present (30 weeks). YIKES!
New Year, New You
Happy New Year!! 2015 will certainly be THE most exciting year for the Laroche household and I couldn’t be more excited (or anxious). With 10 weeks left until my due date it’s time to crack down on 1 – organization, 2 – health, 3 – fitness, 4 – relaxation! Here are some things to keep Kevin and I on track for the coming months to better ourselves and to prepare for the little one!
This helps cover Organization as well as Health!I asked for a new water bottle for Christmas since my last infuser bottle fell and broke. With a new water bottle (with a straw to make for easy drinking) I feel that I can really keep up on my water intake to keep my body and baby hydrated and to prep to nursing in the months after birth. I also (always) have an organizer/planner of some kind that I keep in my purse. Some people use their phones, that’s fine, but I like to have something tangible where I can write everything down. Between doctor’s appointments, notes, pediatrician appointments, phone numbers and any other notes – I like to have something handy!! I love this one that came from Target.
Health and Fitness can go together since we need to be healthy in order to be fit! One of my inspirations is Fitness Barbie Lauren Gleisberg. She blogs daily workouts and meal plans for purchase as well as a new nutrition guide and workout ebooks for purchase. She does all the thinking for you and what proteins, fats and carbs you need while you workout. My mornings are starting out with a smoothie or spinach/egg white omelet or wrap which is giving me plenty of nutrients to start my day. Kevin and I have tried to hit the gym this week a few days – mostly because I just feel SO full after I eat due to a shrinking stomach I just feel to keep that extra bit of exercise to get the food going. My latest Starbucks splurge is Iced Passion Tea/Green Tea unsweetened. YUM!
Yup. I’m that awkward pregnant girl walking around the gym. I look good from behind and then turn to the side and it’s like WHAT WHAT WHAT!!! I’ve been walking on the treadmill for 20 minutes on a 1.0 incline between 2.8-3.4 speed. My uterus tightens up and I have a feeling to pee a lot during those 20 minutes but I feel good. I feel a little lame going to the gym to walk, but it’s freezing outside so I’m all set with that. I’ll then to VERY light free weights on arms or step ups, stretch and go home.
What New Years Eve wouldn’t be complete without putting together a crib! I had an urge yesterday to get the room together a bit more and set the crib up which took just an hour out of our evening. It’s perfect and matches the changing table so well. I can’t wait until this room is complete!
Zoe is still super unsure about everything…boy is she in for it! I plan on a Nursery tour once everything is basically all set in place and looks a little nicer. You know, blankets as curtains aren’t the classiest thing in the world. If you have suggestions for inexpensive curtains/blinds please let us know…these windows are that “awkward” size. Just our luck.
Hope you all enjoyed your New Years Eve and welcome 2015 with open arms. These next few weeks seriously cannot go fast enough. Sending love to all of our friends and family and all the excitement for them in this upcoming year!! 🙂
